Bumstead Spit Beach House is one of the most unique properties on Lummi Island. Very private, it’s nestled on two acres, well away from the road and includes 200 feet of level, pristine beach (with a boat ramp and two mooring buoys). From the beach you can make sure the ferry is running and on schedule.
If you aren’t a boater you can at least enjoy a parade of boats as they pass by the house: yachts of all description, sailboats, purse seiners, Lummi Nation crab boats, tugs and workboats. The orange inflatables are the Coast Guard fast response boats which can hit a top speed of 46 miles per hour. The equally fast moving black bottom boats are Homeland Security and Customs. During the whale season the large whale watching boats will steam by.
Our beautifully decorated family friendly home looks across Hale Passage at Portage Island, Bellingham and Mt. Baker. The home comfortably sleeps 8 people with a minimum five night stay. Sorry, but we do not allow pets.
Seaside living is enhanced with dramatic view-capturing windows, vaulted ceilings, an open loft, and warm wood detailing. French doors lead to a huge deck for great indoor-outdoor access, and there is even another deck down in front at the beach edge.
This property is perfect for boaters, kayakers and canoeists. Launching and recovering your trailerable boat is a snap. It’s an easy put in for kayaks, canoes, rowboats or standup paddle boards. You can leave your boat on a buoy or pull it up to the top of the ramp for easy access.
Lots of beach to explore and shells and rocks to find.
